3-2 Loss Extends Central Valley Skid
Central Valley got a decent performance from pitcher Rubén Chávez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Newcastle House of Brews. Newcastle won the The Euclyptus Nest contest, 3-2. Chávez threw 9.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Satoru Kondo earned the win for Newcastle. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-1. Will Starks earned the save, his 27th in 29 tries.

Helping the Newcastle cause was Charles Bouchard. In the top of the fifth, the 32-year old right fielder had a run-scoring sacrifice fly to make the score 3-0, House of Brews.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bouchard. "And not try to do too much."

With the victory, the House of Brews upped their record to 52-42.
