Yard Cats Take Down Shamrocks, 4-3
|
Ypsi beat Letterkenny on the strength of starter Mark Gunn's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Ypsi reliever Greg Soto picked up the win, upping his record to 1-4. Driscoll Peaty was saddled with the loss. Donald Jackson notched his 3rd save in 4 chances.
With no one out in the top of the tenth, Bernardo Portillo stroked a go-ahead solo home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put Ypsi in front, 4-3.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Portillo said after the game.
The win gives Ypsi a season record of 56-34.
