Boomsticks Come Back Late to Top Nightmare
|
Asheville starter Carlos López had a strong outing against the Nashville Nightmare at Quick Stop Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The win was credited to Nobuhito Sai in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Roy Mack took the loss. Asheville is 50-36 and Nashville, with the loss, 47-38.
The Nightmare had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Boomsticks going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Roberto Lugo came to the plate. Lugo hit a run-scoring single on a 0-1 cutter from Nashville hurler Roy Mack. It was Lugo's 81st hit of the year.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Asheville manager Jon Papp.
