Multi-HR Day for Schneider as Devil Cats Overpower Turkey Vultures, 9-4
|
A 5-RBI performance from left fielder Todd Schneider led the Wicker Park Devil Cats to a 9-4 win over the Central Valley Turkey Vultures. Wicker Park reliever Nathan Black picked up the win to move to 5-4. Tom Bancroft suffered the loss. The Devil Cats, now 50-33, have won 5 in a row.
With Wicker Park leading 3-0 in the top of the fifth, Schneider hit a 3-run home run off Central Valley hurler Tom Bancroft. It was the 10th home run of the season for Schneider and put his team ahead, 6-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Schneider said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
