Recliners Lose to Drifters, 6-2
|
The Dam Site Drifters bested the Duke City Recliners, 6-2, at Superior Stadium. Richard Spivey was named player of the game. He was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Dam Site starter Ramón Gutiérrez was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The Drifters bumped their record to 48-37 with this latest triumph.
With Dam Site leading 3-2 in the bottom of the sixth, Spivey came up to bat against Duke City pitcher Alfredo Torres. Spivey hit a curveball to left for a 3-run home run. His 23rd home run of the season put the Drifters on top, 6-2.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Spivey said after the game.
