Mud Hens Stumble, Lose to Yard Cats
|
Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Jaime Batista, the Ypsi Yard Cats defeated the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens, 8-3. Batista went 2-3 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Yard Cats. The win gives Ypsi a season record of 50-30.
Batista contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Ypsi in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Batista took a cutter from Dave Harding and stroked the home run to left. His 13th home run of the season allowed the Yard Cats to leap in front, 3-1.
"We've got a great group of guys," Batista said, "and we're having fun right now."
