Drifters Score Late to Upend Boomsticks, 6-4
The Dam Site Drifters topped the Asheville Boomsticks by the score of 6-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to designated hitter George Matthews. Matthews went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Drifters on the day. The win lifted the Dam Site record to 42-39.

Matthews had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 slider from Salvador Burgos, he banged a 3-run home run to right-center, giving the Drifters a 6-3 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Matthews.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Matthews.
