Devil Cats Prevail, 4-2, Over Indianapolis
|
The Wicker Park Devil Cats picked up a win at Devil Cat Park, knocking off the Indianapolis Indians, 4-2. Starting pitcher Albert Collier played a key role in the triumph. Collier got the win, improving to 5-6. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. Collier allowed 2 runs. Qian Mai converted his 15th save in 17 tries.
Francisco Martínez gave Wicker Park a good at-bat in the bottom of the third inning. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single to help send Wicker Park to the win.
In comments to the Wicker Park Herald, Martínez admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
Wicker Park now has a record of 42-39 with the win.
