The Columbus Red Birds knocked off the Diablo Canyon Tritium, 4-3, at Griffith's Park. Ricardo López was a big reason Columbus won. The right fielder was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Pedro Hernández was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities. The victory gives Columbus a record of 45-32.

In the bottom of the eighth, López put his team in front with his 17th home run of the season. The solo home run, which came against Rodger Kramer, made it 4-3, Columbus.

After the game, Columbus manager Joe Koralewski applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
