Devil Cats Sneak By Turkey Vultures, 5-4
The Central Valley Turkey Vultures got a superb performance from pitcher Howard Anderson. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Wicker Park. The Devil Cats won the game, 5-4. Anderson threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. Wicker Park reliever José Molina picked up the win to move to 5-2. Michael Veeck suffered the loss. With the victory, the Devil Cats upped their record to 38-38.

Wicker Park used a timely hit from Todd Schneider to get the win. The left fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Devil Cats ahead, 5-4. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Wicker Park manager Nick Angelocci. "It's usually not just one thing."
