The Reykjavik Phoenix topped the Motown Hitmakers, 4-3, with shortstop Ricardo Fernández playing a big role. Fernández was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Phoenix in the win. Herman Nance, now 2-2, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Reykjavik now owns a record of 31-41.
Min-Had Sumual was the walk-off hero for Reykjavik. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Phoenix second baseman hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
