The Columbus Red Birds picked up a win at Griffith's Park, knocking off the Duke City Heisenbergs, 5-1. Starting pitcher Chris Crawford played a key role in the triumph. Columbus reliever Chris Crawford got the win, raising his record to 4-0. Tim Briggs was tagged with the loss. With the victory, the Red Birds upped their record to 40-30.

The game could have flipped with two out in the top of the fourth. But Chris Crawford made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With the bases loaded and Duke City trailing 4-0, Crawford threw a cutter to Shawn Thomas and Thomas flied out.
