The Dam Site Drifters downed the Columbus Red Birds, 6-3, at Griffith's Park. Gerardo Velázquez led the way, going 3-for-4 for Dam Site. Michinori Shinohara earned the save, his 6th. Dam Site now has a record of 35-35 with the win.
The Drifters got a lift from second baseman Guillermo Ortíz, who in the top of the fifth hit a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season put the Drifters on top, 5-3.
"Enjoyed this one," Velázquez told the Dam Site News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
