Tritium Get One-Run Win at Texas
|
Mario Rodríguez pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Texas Renegades, despite Rodríguez's fine outing, dropped a 2-1 decision to the Diablo Canyon Tritium at The Cavern. Dave Beauchamp got the win, improving to 6-5. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 3 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 4. The Tritium raised their record to 23-40.
It could have been a different outcome for Diablo Canyon, had it not been for Joe Wagner, the three-time Crash Davis Award winner . Wagner contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put Diablo Canyon up, 2-1.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Diablo Canyon manager PA Blaylock. "Our pregame was pretty good."
