Indians Earn 4-3 Win Versus Nightmare
|
The Nashville Nightmare got a superb performance from pitcher Cody Mabty. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Indianapolis. The Indians won the game, 4-3. Mabty threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win belongs to Whit Cunningham in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Joe West took the loss for Nashville. Yosai Kato notched his 11th save in 14 chances.
B.J. Pearce, who finished 2nd in the TTWB in triples with 11 in 2050, aided the Indianapolis cause with a 2-run single in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the center fielder went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Nashville manager Matt Tomczak. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
The 8th-place Indians have a record of 28-33.
