Boomsticks Lose to Devil Cats, 10-2
|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Gerald Nicholson, the Wicker Park Devil Cats defeated the Asheville Boomsticks, 10-2. Nicholson was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Devil Cats. Wicker Park is in 6th place in the To The Wall Baseball Patriotic League with a record of 29-32.
With Wicker Park leading 4-1 in the bottom of the third, Nicholson hit a fastball from Nate Díaz for a grand slam home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and put the Devil Cats ahead, 8-1.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Nicholson said.
