Reykjavik and Columbus duked it out and the Phoenix came out victorious.

Despite a fine performance by first baseman Eduardo Martínez, the Columbus Red Birds lost to the Reykjavik Phoenix, 7-6. Martínez hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. Reykjavik is now 27-33, Columbus 35-25.

Reykjavik needed the clutch hitting of Fusitua Tuimo to notch the win. The catcher hammered a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Phoenix on top, 7-6. For the game, Tuimo had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Tuimo told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
