Devil Cats Come Up Short at Ypsi, 5-4
|
Ypsi right fielder Francisco Dávila helped his team beat the Wicker Park Devil Cats, 5-4. Dávila went 2 for 3 for the Yard Cats. Iván Sandoval, credited with the win, is now 4-0. He allowed no runs on no hits. The save went to Greg Soto, number 13 for him.
In the bottom of the fifth, Ypsi third baseman Judy Johnson had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Johnson stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 5-2, Ypsi. For the game, he was 1 for 3 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
Dávila told a Ypsi Daily News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the victory, the Yard Cats upped their record to 36-22.
