Indians Drop 6-3 Decision
|
Motown starter Bartolo Sánchez pitched well against the Indianapolis Indians at Old League Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Sánchez went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 6. His record improves to 7-2. Juan García earned the save, his 13th, for the Hitmakers.
The Hitmakers got a big at-bat from catcher Javier García. For the game, García was 1-3 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 9th double of the season gave Motown a 4-1 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Sánchez. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The victory gives Motown a record of 35-23.
