Stalkers Lose to LumberJacks, 4-2
|
The Ludington LumberJacks topped the Iowa City Stalkers, 4-2, in To The Wall Baseball action at Hayden Fry Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Ludington pitcher Roberto Jiménez. The winning pitcher was Jiménez, now 2-0. He tossed 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. Harry Salazar converted his 4th save in 4 tries.
Ludington used a well-timed hit by Esteban Reyes to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the LumberJacks ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a solid team effort," said Jiménez after the game.
Ludington is now 28-29, Iowa City 30-27.
