Shamrocks Roll to 8-3 Win Over Turkey Vultures
|
Letterkenny rode a decent outing from starter Tomás Silva to victory over the Central Valley Turkey Vultures. The final score was 8-3. Silva, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 12, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. With the victory, the Shamrocks upped their record to 27-25.
The Shamrocks got an important contribution from left fielder Gerald Smith, who in the bottom of the first hit a fastball into right for a 2-run double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Shamrocks ahead, 4-0.
"I'm glad we can make our fans happy with a win," Silva told the Letterkenny Daily.
