Yard Cats Drop LumberJacks, 8-5

Ypsi and Ludington duked it out and the Yard Cats came out victorious.
The Ludington LumberJacks got a sterling performance from designated hitter Felipe Morales, but the Ypsi Yard Cats still prevailed, 8-5. Morales went 3 for 5 with 2 home runs. Mark Gunn was the winner. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 8 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. Ernesto Santiago recorded the save for Ypsi, his 2nd of the season.
Jon Rouillard, the two-time All-Star , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rouillard contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth inning to put Ypsi up, 4-2.
"I like our moxie," said Yard Cats manager Patrick Holt.
With the victory, the Yard Cats upped their record to 30-20.
