Boomsticks Earn 8-5 Win Against Heisenbergs
Asheville first baseman Ken Whitaker helped his team beat the Duke City Heisenbergs, 8-5. Whitaker went 3 for 6 for the Boomsticks. The victory gives Asheville a record of 28-22.

Asheville won the game in the bottom of the 15th inning. With one out and Rob Stanley on the mound for Duke City, designated hitter Jeff Lawler hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Boomsticks fans to their feet.

"Our team showed some spunk," said Whitaker.
