Turkey Vultures Deal Shamrocks 3-1 Loss
|
The Central Valley Turkey Vultures beat the Letterkenny Shamrocks, 3-1. Central Valley pitcher and San Francisco de Macorís, Dominican Republic, native Rubén Chávez led the way. Chávez went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-1. Michael Veeck got the save, the 7th for him this season.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Melvin Stevens? The Central Valley right fielder had a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to put the Turkey Vultures on top, 2-1. For the game, Stevens had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Chávez said after the game.
The win puts Central Valley at 18-31.
