The Reykjavik Phoenix stopped the Ypsi Yard Cats, 9-6, at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. The Phoenix got a big game from Harry Hickey, who was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3. Davey Hosey picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ernesto Santiago was tagged with the loss. Brett Fitzgerald collected save number 13.

Hickey had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 fastball from Ernesto Santiago, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Phoenix a 8-6 lead. It was the 10th home run of the year for Hickey.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Hickey. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."

At 19-26, the Phoenix find themselves in 9th place in the To The Wall Baseball Nationalist League.
