Drifters Get 7-4 Win Versus Newcastle
The Dam Site Drifters picked up a win at Moses Fleetwood Walker Park, knocking off the Newcastle House of Brews, 7-4. Starting pitcher Jun'ichiro Sakai played a key role in the triumph. Sakai, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 10, walking 3, and allowing 4 runs. Earning his 9th save for Dam Site was Dong-min Ch'oe.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Li-zhu Shu? The Dam Site center fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Drifters on top, 4-2. For the game, Shu had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Sakai.

The Drifters now have a mark of 22-24.
