The Iowa City Stalkers beat the Texas Renegades, 4-2. Iowa City pitcher and Gilbert, Arizona, native Anthony Hughes led the way. Hughes got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 6 over 8 innings. Hughes allowed 2 runs. Harold Parker earned the save for Iowa City, his 6th of the year.

Rod Boone, the 26-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Boone contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Iowa City up, 3-2.

After the game, Iowa City manager Mark Sands applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.

The 7th-place Stalkers sport a record of 21-22.
