The Diablo Canyon Tritium went home winners at Fission Field, thanks in large part to starter Dave Beauchamp. Beauchamp stifled the Central Valley Turkey Vultures, enabling Diablo Canyon to grab the 5-1 win. Beauchamp, the winner, moves to 3-5. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The Tritium sport a record of 13-30.

Walt Ortíz came through for Diablo Canyon when he hit a grand slam home run in the bottom of the third. With the bases loaded, he hit a 1-1 splitter to left-center field, staking his team to a 4-0 lead.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Diablo Canyon skipper PA Blaylock.
