Yard Cats Score 7-4 Win Against Phoenix

The rain could not dampen the enthusiasm of Ypsi fans at The Squid's Beak.
A 4-RBI performance from the two-time Crash Davis Award winner Earnest Peters helped the Ypsi Yard Cats beat the Phoenix Downs, 7-4. The winner in relief was Eric Riley. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings.
Peters had a timely hit for Ypsi in the bottom of the seventh. With Phoenix trailing 4-3, he turned a 1-0 sinker into a grand slam home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 7-4, Ypsi.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Peters. "But I like how we're playing right now."
Ypsi has now won 4 games in a row.
