Evans Lays Hammer Down in 2-0 Win
|
The Indianapolis Indians picked up a win at Thunder Stadium, knocking off the Phoenix Downs, 2-0. Starting pitcher Randall Evans played a key role in the triumph. Yosai Kato closed it out for his 6th save. The win has Indianapolis at 15-15.
Evans imposed his will on the Downs, scattering 1 hit over 8.2 innings while striking out 13. The left-hander upped his season record to 2-1.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Phoenix skipper Walt Partlo, "and it cost us."
