Drifters Earn 2-1 Road Win Over Wicker Park
|
The Wicker Park Devil Cats and Dam Site Drifters provided some drama for the home crowd.
Dam Site Drifters starter Miguel Matos was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Wicker Park Devil Cats, 2-1. Matos went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 4, and struck out 9. His record improves to 2-0.
Dam Site used the bat of Hubert Cowan to get the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Drifters ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
Cowan said his team "played with determination."
