The Ypsi Yard Cats overcame a good performance by Letterkenny third baseman Bryce Taylor to knock off Letterkenny, 7-3, at The Squid's Beak. Taylor went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. At 19-9, the Yard Cats have played well so far.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter António Gómez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Letterkenny pitcher Víctor Gonzáles, he hit a 2-1 changeup for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Ypsi on top, 4-3.

Gómez said his team "played with determination."
