5 hits in a game has always been a big milestone in baseball -- 5 hits in a game gets a player's name in the record book, win or lose. Masaki Sai got his name recorded today, but the Great Black Swamp Mud Hens picked up the win at The Nest, topping the Dam Site Drifters, 9-8.

"He bushwhacked us," said winning manager Casimir Koralewski. "We were lucky to come out ahead."

Sai, who finished 5th in the TTWB in slugging percentage with .597 in 2049, spoke to reporters in the clubhouse following the game, saying his nerves only set in once he was on the cusp of the milestone.

"I got too much adrenaline going when I realized that this could be a once-in-a-lifetime day," the first baseman said. "I think the coaches could tell I was going to be ready to swing at anything close. That's why my third base coach told me to calm down and wait for a good pitch. That got me back on track."

Masaki Sai singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Flynn Duffy in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

This season Sai has hit at a .295 clip with 27 RBIs, 9 home runs and 18 runs scored.
