Iowa City and Reykjavik got after it at Flaming Ashes Ballpark.

The Iowa City Stalkers beat the Reykjavik Phoenix, 9-6, at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. Brian Simpson, in particular, was impressive. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times. Anthony Hughes, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 10 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 2-1.

Iowa City relied on the bat of Yoshihide Tezuka to get the win. The shortstop ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Stalkers ahead, 7-4. For the game, Tezuka had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
