Stalkers Upend Phoenix, 8-4
The Iowa City Stalkers downed the Reykjavik Phoenix, 8-4, at Flaming Ashes Ballpark. Iolana Amoka led the way, going 3-for-6 for Iowa City. Fu-Kang Ow was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 8 hits, with 6 walks and 10 strikeouts. The Stalkers have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 5th win in 17 games.

The game turned with one out in the top of the sixth when Amoka hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Stalkers into the lead, 3-1.

In comments to the Iowa City Citizen, Amoka admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
