9-3 Win Gets Columbus to 11-5
Columbus starter José Soto had a strong outing against the Asheville Boomsticks at Quick Stop Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 9-3 win. Matt Bailey was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Columbus, now 11-5, has played well in the early going.

Eduardo Martínez played a key role in the win for the Red Birds. The first baseman punched a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning. For the game, Martínez went 1-5 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Soto. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
