The Ypsi Yard Cats got a good effort from starter Tim García in defeating the Iowa City Stalkers at Hayden Fry Field. The final score was 5-2. Iowa City, now 4-11, continues its tough start.

Ypsi used a well-timed hit by António Gómez to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Yard Cats ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Gómez told the Ypsi Daily News.
