|
Asheville rode a good effort from starter Walter Johnson to beat the Dam Site Drifters at Superior Stadium. The final score was 3-1. In 7 innings, Johnson surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Salvador Burgos, number 2 for him.
The Boomsticks had to work out of trouble in the bottom of the ninth. The score was 3-1, Asheville, with no one out. Dam Site, with the bases empty, was mounting a threat. Sloan Vincent dug in at the plate, but on a full count fastball, he grounded out.
The win puts Asheville at 4-7.
