Spivey Slugs Drifters to 9-5 Win
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Richard Spivey, the Dam Site Drifters defeated the Asheville Boomsticks, 9-5. Spivey went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice for the Drifters. Miguel Matos got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 3. Trevor Armstrong earned save number 1 this season.

With Dam Site leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Spivey hit a sinker from Nate Díaz for a solo home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Drifters ahead, 4-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Spivey.

The defeat makes Asheville 3-6.
