LumberJacks Earn 3-2 Win Against Boomsticks
|
The Ludington LumberJacks took Asheville pitcher Dale Fleming's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Husqvarna Field. The final score had Ludington getting past the Boomsticks, 3-2. Fleming went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 13. Mark Graham snagged the win in relief. In 3 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on no hits. He's now 1-0 on the season. Asheville falls to 3-4.
Ludington won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Salvador Burgos on the mound for Asheville, center fielder Ben Curry hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing LumberJacks fans to their feet.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Curry said.
