Hitmakers Shut Out LumberJacks, 5-0
|
The Motown Hitmakers topped the Ludington LumberJacks by the score of 5-0, with the largest share of the credit going to catcher Javier García. García went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Hitmakers. The winner was Motown reliever Jim Knutsen, now 2-0. The loser was Matthew Healey. The loss drops the LumberJacks to 1-4.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the seventh inning, but Bill Pilgrim didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Ludington trailing 1-0, Pilgrim retired Rob Jacobson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Pilgrim, with a wink.
