Yard Cats Topple Boomsticks with Late Rally
Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Asheville Boomsticks home opener. Dale Fleming started for the home team against Horace Bush for the Ypsi Yard Cats. The Boomsticks were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 8-5, Ypsi. Dale Fleming, though, was impressive. Ernesto Santiago earned the save, his 1st, for the Yard Cats.

Ypsi used the clutch hitting of Jesús Aragón to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Yard Cats ahead, 7-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Aragón.
