Mountaneers Mori Smacks 5 Hits
|
A jubilant Takeru Mori joined the postgame press conference at Electrics Ballpark today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Turnbull ACs pitching staff he had just vanquished.
"It may not have looked like it," said the Mount Pleasant Mountaneers third baseman, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."
That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Mountaneers to a 3-1 win.
"He made it look easy," said , manager of the ACs. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."
Takeru Mori doubled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
Currently Mori is hitting .243 and has collected 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and scored 21 times, while playing in 52 games.
