Fabricators Prevail, as Round 1 Goes to the Wire Thursday, August 1st , 2052 TTWB Short Season A pundits who figured the Round 1 between the Beneke Fabricators and Bad Axe Hatchets would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Beneke coming out on top thanks to a 12-2 win in the deciding game at Mystics Ballpark, to wrap things up 3-2. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said Fabricators shortstop José Delgado, who was named series MVP. For the series, Delgado had 5 hits for a .333 average. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 3 runs. The Beneke Fabricators will play against the Victoria Secrets in the next round.
