2052 Top Player Honored By TRL
Sunday, September 22nd , 2052
At the age of 20, Júlio Santos of the North Muskegon Trout could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2052 was good enough to win the catcher the Theodore Roosevelt League Outstanding Hitter Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .288 batting average this year, as well as a .474 on-base percentage. He played 59 games and racked up 49 hits, 17 doubles, no triples, 2 home runs, 28 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
He received 9 first place votes out of a possible 22. Luis Santiago of the Garland Commanders finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Juan Torres of the Fort Industry '94s finished third.
