Star of the Week Named in UGL Monday, August 19th , 2052 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Ulysses S. Grant League, but last week José Wood of the West Bloomfield Wannabees reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Wood rocked opposing pitching for a .406 average (13-for-32), no home runs and 5 RBIs to come away with the award. This year Wood has socked 53 hits in 200 at-bats for a .265 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .285 pace and his totals also include 23 RBIs and 28 runs scored. |
