Hernández on Fire: 5-for-5 for Michigan Sunday, July 21st , 2052 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Miguel Hernández, it came around today. The 23-year-old center fielder scattered hits all over Ballpark of Saint Petersburg to pace the Michigan Belly Itchers to a 6-0 victory over the Seney Swampmonsters. Seney skipper told reporters in the press room that "Hernández deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Hernández hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Miguel Hernández doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI triple in the 6th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this season Hernández is hitting .241 with 4 home runs, 12 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 28 hits in 116 at-bats and has played in 35 games. View Boxscore View Game Log |
