The Allendale Animals defeated the Eastern Nationals, 6-5, at Harriers Ballpark. Allendale left fielder Roger Thompson had a superb performance. He went 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk, while scoring 2. The victory gives Allendale a record of 23-22.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth, an error by the Nationals allowed the Animals to score the winning run.

"This joint was rocking," said Thompson.
