'94s Come Up Short at Western, 3-2
|
Western got a strong outing from Hal Newhouser as the Patriots defeated the Fort Industry '94s, 3-2, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Newhouser went 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 6, and struck out 1. His record improves to 1-1. Trevor Hoffman closed the game out for Western, earning his 3rd save.
Lou Boudreau had a critical at-bat with one out in the bottom of the sixth for Western. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Western in front, 3-0.
"We'll savor this win," Boudreau told the Western Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
The win has Western at 14-38.
