It wasn't easy but the Hermosa Beach Whales made it look that way.

Starter Kuniyuki Suzuki shut out the Gramercy Riffs despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Hermosa Beach Whales cruised to victory, 2-0. Suzuki allowed only 3 hits and rang up 11 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.

"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."

So far this season Suzuki has a 2-3 record, 6 starts, 44.2 innings, 39 strikeouts and a 3.43 ERA.
